I'll be on hiatus for the next couple of weeks although I will attempt to paint while on the road. I'll drop a few paintings on the blog that I did several years ago in the meantime and thanks everyone for following, you'll see a series of interesting paintings from a special place in America when I get back.
As many of you know it's been a wonderful 2 years + since my kidney transplant. It's given me a new life! For two years I've been trying to get up enough nerve to dive back into painting and this time with oils. With much encouragment from my friends Jack Hannula and Chris Sherry here are my first results.
I've found them to be much more forgiving than watercolors and if you look back on my work on this blog you'll understand the struggle I was going through with them.

I like the color play in this one with color echoes throughout the painting. Nice water. Will miss you.
Andy, this one works great!
